NYPD Is Investigating Mario Batali For Horrific Sexual Assault Allegations
The NYPD is launching a criminal investigation into Mario Batali following new accusations that he drugged and assaulted a colleague. (Read more HERE).
His company has announced it’s cutting all ties from him as well. The NYPD confirmed its investigating him following a horrific 60 Minutes report from a former waitress claiming he drugged her and raped her on the third floor of The Spotted Pig, a West Village restaurant — in a room Mario and his friend dubbed the “rape room.”
“The first thing I think is, ‘I’ve been drugged.’ That was the first thing I thought is, ‘I’ve been — I’ve been assaulted,’” she recalled on the show, saying everything before was groggy. “I remember a moment where I was on his lap, kissing him. Like, he was kissing me. And then I remember throwing up — in a toilet. And that is all.”
