Academy Award winner Russel Crowe auctioned off his guitars, motorcycles and classic film memorabilia through Sotheby’s Australia in an exhibit called “The Art of Divorce” — and he means it!

“He basically curated it,” Sotheby’s Australia Head of Arts and Design Guy Cairnduff told Page Six in Sydney this week. “He picked the music. He designed the setup. He was heavily involved.” He and Danielle Spencer have been separated since 2012. “It’s amicable,” he said. “A lot of people won’t see it that way, but it’s a healthy way to move on.”

“As amicable as any parting may be, there are still deep emotional bonds that have to be unwound and that journey has helped me have a simpler perspective in so many areas,” Russell wrote in an introduction. “…Danielle and I have kept our communication open, our focus on what is best for our children and we have managed to avoid the darkness we have witnessed some divorcing couples slip into.”
