People are talking about Sean Penn’s appearance last night on Late Show With Stephen Colbert, after he chain smoked and admitted to being on Ambien.

“I’m doing well. You’ve inherited a little of the Ambien I had to take to get to sleep after a red-eye last night,” he said at the start of his sit-down.

Stephen asked, “So in other words, you’re still a little bit on the Ambien train right now?” To which Sean replied, “A little bit.”

People weren’t terribly entertained, though. “Sean Penn is looking a little disheveled while #chainsmoking on #colbert,” one user tweeted.
