Neil Diamond To Receive Songwriters Hall of Fame’s Highest Honor
For the 49th Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame, Neil Diamond will be this year’s recipient of the Johnny Mercer Award, its highest honor.
The award comes after Neil announced his recent diagnoses with Parkinson’s disease. Following the announcement, the third leg of his 50th anniversary tour was canceled.
“I plan to remain active in writing, recording and other projects for a long time to come. My thanks go out to my loyal and devoted audiences around the world. You will always have my appreciation for your support and encouragement. This ride has been ‘so good, so good, so good’ thanks to you,” he said in a statement at the time.
