Gary Oldman’s Ex Says The Academy Gives Awards To Abusers
When Gary Oldman won an Academy Awards this weekend, his ex-wife wasn’t too pleased.
“Congratulations, Gary and congratulations to the Academy for awarding not one, but two abusers with Oscars,” Donya Fiorentino told TMZ, referring to Kobe Bryant, who was charged with sexual assault in 2003. “I thought we had evolved. What happened to the #MeToo movement?”
Donya and Gary were married from 1997 to 2001, and she’d previously accused him of physical and emotional abuse, claiming he even beat her with a phone once. Gary denied the allegations, saying they were fighting for the phone and it accidentally hit her.
