Penelope Cruz Speaks About Donatella Versace And The Versace Family

Penelope Cruz as Donatella Versace is everything. Now, the actress opens up in the March issue of Town & Country magazine with her co-star Edgar Ramirez, who portrays her Gianni Versace in the show.
“To me, she [Donatella Versace] is like a heroine,” she says of the fashion designer who took over Versace after her brother was murdered outside his Miami home in 1997. “She has demonstrated in so many ways in her life how to be an incredible woman.”
“I could relate to that family emotion. Italian and Spanish people are very similar in that way,” she explains. “It’s like what I have with my brother and sister. Donatella, Santo, Gianni, what they had together they started together, and that family passion is very tight.”
