Netflix users got more than they bargained for when MoviePass CEO Mitch Lowe, who’s also a co-founder of Netflix, and his partner accidentally sent porn to Netflix members early on in the company’s history.

Mitch revealed the mishap at a Sundance event, saying that Netflix was testing its ability to put video onto DVD in 1998.

“When you get DVDs you usually have nice labels, but when you’re going fast you don’t have time for labels. It turns out that [the person] who was a duplicator, also duplicated pornography,” he said. “We sent thousands and thousands and a couple hundred had porn on them! We told our customers to send them back — no one did.”

Now that’s funny!
