Hoda Kotb received a lot of love and hate yesterday after she was promoted to anchor of the Today show. One Twitter user went as far as to say, “Sorry Hoda ur great with Kathylee but not as anchor. Was looking for a seasoned man – guess NBC doesn’t have one.”

That’s when coanchor Al Roker bit back and said, “Sounds like you want a steak, not an anchor.”

The critic later said: “It’s not a gender issue but rather personality. You all are in hype over the wrong issue.”

Al replied, “I guess ‘seasoned man’ has nothing to do with gender. I misunderstood. Have a great day.”
