Some of Hollywood’s most powerful women are saying “Time’s Up” on being silent about harassment, equal pay and benefits, and overall gender inequality.

“The struggle for women to break in, to rise up the ranks and to simply be heard and acknowledged in male-dominated workplaces must end,” the group said in a statement. “Time’s up on this impenetrable monopoly.”

The group involves such people as Reese Witherspoon, Shonda Rhimes, Natalie Portman, Kerry Washington, Chelsea Handler, Meryl Streep and many more.

“Time’s up on silence,” tweeted producer and participant Shonda Rimes in support of the campaign. “Time’s up on waiting.”

Meryl and Steven Spielberg have already donated to the fund, which has raised over $13 million thus far: “Unfortunately, too many centers of power — from legislatures to boardrooms to executive suites and management and academia — lack gender parity and women do not have equal decision-making authority.”

Time’s Up is also calling for women to wear black at the upcoming Golden Globes as a sign of solidarity to the victims of sexual harassment who have come out over the last few months.
