Mindy Kaling is a mom to a bouncing baby girl named Katherine!
E! News reports Katherine was born on December 15. News of Mindy’s pregnancy broke this summer but wasn’t confirmed until her friend Oprah spilled the beans. Mindy later told Ellen DeGeneres that she was expecting a baby girl and that it was an honor having Oprah announce it.
“She did announce it,” she said to Ellen. “If anyone is going to announce big news about your private life, Oprah Winfrey is the person. You can’t complain that much about it. And you also can’t be like, ‘Hey, Oprah, zip it’ — because she’s almost like a religious figure.”
