While most of America woke on Monday to discover that Meghan Markle is going to be the first American-British royal, CNN’s Chris Cuomo was trying to think of other things.

“I don’t know why I’m so excited about this,” co-host Alisyn Camerota started before realizing her Chris’s apathy, “But there is something romantic and… no?”

“This fascination with royalty, which is anathema to what our democracy is all about, has always boggled my mind a little bit,” he said. “But I know this: Harry is a good man. He really focuses on those Invictus games. He’s really used his power, as ersatz as it may be, to do the right thing. So good for him. Any positive news is good news right now.”
