The ex who accused Ryan Phillippe of assault is now getting an accusation of her own. Ryan says she’s only looking for money and attention, and the whole thing is an attempt to extort him.

The first accusation came in September when his ex, Elsie Hewitt, sued him alleging he physically assaulted her in a drunken rage at his home this summer. She is seeking $1 million.

Ryan says in new documents that he only treated her with “kindness and respect” and never hit her. He also says she drunkenly broke into his home that night.

“Hewitt, by contrast, broke into Phillippe’s home in the middle of the night without permission, and has now fabricated a story in an unjustified attempt to extort money from Phillippe and gain publicity for herself and her modeling career,” the filing claims.

In the docs, Phillippe also claims he was “raised by women in a household where women’s rights, feminism, and advocacy were very much at the forefront, and he is sickened to have been falsely accused of domestic violence.”

“Phillippe strongly believes there is no justification for domestic violence of any kind, and realizes that such claims — even baseless ones like those made by Hewitt — need to be investigated by law enforcement in order to protect people who (unlike Hewitt) are victims,” the papers added.
