The legendary performer died eight years ago, and according to Forbes he was the top-earning dead celebrity for the fifth year in a row. His earnings were boosted by a greatest hits alum, a Las Vegas Cirque du Soleil show, and a stake in the EMI music publishing catalog.
Second was golf legend Arnold Palmer who brought in $40 million in part through sales of Arizona lemonade, followed by Charles Schulz, the creator of “Peanuts” who brought in $38 million.
Elvis Presley came in fourth with $35 million, and Bob Marley came in fifth with $23 million.
