‘The Crown’s’ Claire Foy Knows Who’s Playing Queen Elizabeth Next
Star of The Crown, Claire Foy, has wowed audiences with her performance as a younger Queen Elizabeth. Now, the actress told the audience at a press conference fans will be very happy with the mystery casting choice of the woman destined to play the Queen after her in the hit Netflix show.
“I know who’s doing it and I’m not telling you…It’s really exciting and great and amazing!” she teased.
Currently, Claire is playing Queen Elizabeth from 1953 through the 1960s, but the second season is going to be her last seeing as she’ll be too young to play Elizabeth from the 1970s onward.
“I always knew from the get-go that I was only going to be doing two series,” she added. “I’m just very, very grateful that I have had such a wonderful time playing that part and made friends for life.”
