Sources Say Lawrence O’Donnell’s Crazy Meltdown Video Was Leaked on Purpose

A few weeks ago, a video surfaced of MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell yelling at staffers during breaks on a broadcast of The Last Word. Now, TV insiders at Page Six are saying it might have been leaked on purpose in retaliation during contact negotiations.

The video, published on Mediate, shows Lawrence screaming at staff members to silence people in the control room and stop a “hammering” sound.

Sources say that Lawrence pissed off NBC’s Andy Lack (who also oversees MSNBC) in May by tweeting about his contract negotiations — process that was described by an insider as “tense and unusually public.” Another source said the leaked video may have been leaked by someone who is “senior level.”

“A better anchorman and a better person would’ve had a better reaction to technical difficulties,” Lawrence responded to the video this week, telling Page Six: “This is a ridiculous conspiracy theory. There’s only one person to blame for this video — me. Andy Lack brought me to MSNBC when he created the network in 1996. We were friends before that and have always remained friends.”
