Today is the 16th anniversary of the September 11 attacks in New York City, so naturally all the news outlets are reliving the terror. But Fox News host Brian Kilmeade argued if whether the 9/11 memorials will eventually suffer the same fate as the Confederate statues coming down across the country.

“Do you worry 100 years from now someone’s going to try to take that memorial down like they’re trying to remake our memorials today?” he asked Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke.

“Well, I’m one that believes we should learn from history,” Ryan said. “I think our monuments are part of our country’s history and we can learn from it. I think reflecting on our history, both good and bad, is a powerful statement and part of our DNA.”
