Roger Federer was defeated in the US Open, but that’s okay, because with friends like Bill Gates, who needs a stupid title anyway?

Bill took Roger out to lunch at Le Bilboquet after the match, Page Six reports. Thankfully, none of the other diners at the luxe NYC French bistro bothered them or seemed to  care.

Roger was defeated by Juan Martin Del Potro.

Roger and Bill appear to be good friends. They’ve even played tennis together last April at the Federer Foundation’s Match for Africa 4 fundraiser in Seattle.
