It’s officially confirmed that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will not be a senator after all.

Senator Bob Menendez went on trial this week in Newark, NJ for accepting bribes, and is expected to be convicted before Chris’s term ends, reports Page Six. However, Bob isn’t expected to resign.

As Page Six reports, “Menendez isn’t expected to resign, even if he is convicted, and it would take a two-thirds vote in the Senate to expel him. Fifteen fellow Democrats would have to vote against him. Very unlikely.”

It might be likely that Bob will tap Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnik.

“There are power brokers in the state who want Bramnick,” radio host Joe Piscopo said. “New Jersey would be well-served with him in the Senate.”
