As more news comes from Houston during the destruction of Hurricane Harvey, we’re hearing more heroic tales from people, including those whose jobs it is to tell the news — one such story comes from KHOU reporter Brandi Smith, who kept reporting even when her own station was reported to have been flooded and evacuated.
She and photographer Mario Sandoval streamed video when they saw a truck driver trapped in his vehicle with water closing in around him. Thankfully, sheriff’s deputies were passing by and Brandi flagged them down, then reported the rescue.
“I don’t have any word on how long he’s been there or what kind of condition he’s in. I’m sure he’s very wet, very cold, very frightened. I am terrified for him, so I can’t imagine the level of fear he has here,” she said.
Thank you to @KHOU_MSandoval and @HCSOTexas for everything. pic.twitter.com/NcEmdi4vdo
