Every year, several figures are chosen to be recognized for their lifetime contribution to American culture through performing arts, and this year fie entertainers are about to become even more legendary than they already were.

Actress, dancer and choreographer Carmen de Lavallade, singer-songwriter and actress Gloria Estefan, hip hop artist LL COOL J ,TV writer and producer Norman Lear, and musician and record producer Lionel Richie will receive their place in history at the Kennedy Center Honors.
