Ex ‘Doctor Who’ Peter Capaldi Gave Damn Good Advice to the New ‘Doctor Who’

Everyone is talking about the new Doctor Who, who for the first time in the franchise’s history is female — and her beautiful name is Jodie Whittaker!

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly at Comic-Con over the weekend, Doctor Who’s predecessor Peter Capaldi shared the advice he gave to Jodie: “I said just enjoy it because it’s absolutely incredible,” he said. “She’ll be fabulous. It was lovely to speak to her and see how much affection and passion she has for the show. She’s going to be brilliant.”

Peter will be making his last appearance as the time-bouncing Doctor (the 12th incarnation) in the upcoming Christmas special, also starring David Bradley as the First Doctor.

“That’s the first Doctor I remember,” Peter said. “The show started when I was 5 years old, and I have this really distant memory of this strange, rather grumpy man in the TARDIS, but him being rather magical. … For me, it was lovely. It was like full-circle.”
