Actor John Heard Found Dead at 71
Beloved actor, famous for his role as the dad in Home Alone (and Bette Midler’s lover in Beaches), John Heard was found dead in a hotel room near Santa Clara.
The medical examiner completed the autopsy this weekend and the cause of death has yet to be determined, as his body needs further testing, including toxicology, which can take a few weeks to finish.
According to a release from the examiner’s officer, there was no sign of foul play. The actor was recovering in the hotel after having minor back surgery.
“I can confirm that our officers responded with the Fire Department to a hotel in our city yesterday on a report of a person in need of medical aid,” a spokesperson for police told People magazine. “The person was determined to be deceased. While still under investigation, the death is not considered suspicious at this time.”
