Maria Menounos gave her first TV interview since her seven-hour long surgery to remove a golf-ball-sized brain tumor.

In her interview with NBC News’s Megyn Kelly, she shared: “I think that this was a gift, because I needed to change my life. I needed to change the way—I did everything.”

Maria also spoke about her mom’s ongoing battle with stage 4 brain cancer: “I just hope that we can make her one of the long-term survivors because I’m worried about her. Nobody ever wants to lose their mom.”
