Justin Bieber Banned From China (You Know It’s Bad!)

It takes a lot to get banned from an entire country, but Justin Bieber always loves a challenge.

The country of China banned Justin Bieber from performing on its mainland due to his “bad behavior” on and off stage in order to “purify” China’s entertainment industry, according to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture.

However, the ban isn’t permanent. If Justin improves his behavior, the 23-year old singer might be able to make amends.

The bad behavior they’re talking about is his run-ins with the law over alleged drunk driving, drag racing, fighting with strangers, etc. (Need we go on?)

The ban came to realization after someone asked the question to the bureau’s website, asking why Justin wasn’t allowed to perform on the mainland: “Please give a detailed explanation of why Justin Bieber is not allowed to come to China! [He] has won many major awards, which demonstrates his extraordinary talents. Why aren’t mainland fans given the right to enjoy his performance?” they wrote.

The bureau responded:

“We sympathize with your feelings. Justin Bieber is a talented singer but is also a controversial young foreign idol. We understand that there are records of his bad behavior, whether it is in his private life abroad or on stage… His inappropriate manner has caused public discontent. In order to regulate the market order of show business in China and purify the market environment, it was decided that performers of inappropriate behavior will not be welcomed.”
