Chris Christie is Not Letting Anyone Else on a Beach Except His Family, New Jersey is Pissed

Because of New Jersey’s government shutdown, there are many public spaces that are closed — that is, unless you’re governor.

Chris said he and his family plan on using a beach (which is supposed to be closed to the public) during the fourth of July weekend. That means, no one else is allowed to use the beach except for his family.

For those living in the area who want to use the beach to do the same thing Chris is doing, it’s kind of a slap in the face.

“This is an incredible scandal. They actually caught a politician being where he said he was going to be with the people he said he was going to be with,” Chris said unceremoniously during a phone call with Fox 29’s Good Day Philadelphia.

Police are going to have to turn away cars, bicyclists, and joggers attempting to enter the popular beach, while Chris and his family live it up in the sun.

“You can understand why a lot of people are upset,” Good Day Philadelphia co-host Alex Holley said. “They can’t go to that beach, they want to be able to do what you’re doing, and they can’t.”

“Well, I’m sorry, they’re not the governor,” Christie said back. “We have a residence in Princeton, and that place is a place where people can go and tour, but they can’t if the government is closed. Am I supposed to move out and stay in a hotel?”
