JB Smoove just threw us a bone.

Though it has yet to be officially confirmed, the actor revealed that the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm will premiere on October 1!

During the Roots Picnic on Saturday night, JB, who stars on the series, took the stage with singer Amanda Seales to introduce the band, and let the cat out of the bag about the highly anticipated return of the HBO comedy. The show, written by and starring Seinfeld co-creator Larry David, has been on a five-year hiatus, and fans have been chomping at the bit for its comeback.

During a recent appearance on ABC News’ Popcorn With Peter Travers, comedian Jeff Garlin, who also stars on the show, opened up a bit about the upcoming season. He said:

“It’s coming back with all the things about it that people love. But it’s not following any big formula. The storyline is rather insane. Like people are gonna go, ‘I can’t believe they’re doing this!’ That’s what they’re gonna say. And I don’t often think that with our show.”

HBO did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation on the return date.
