Gordon Ramsay’s Least Favorite American Foods

Gordon Ramsay is passionate about food, and he’s not afraid to voice his opinions.

When it comes to some American classics, the chef is less than impressed. He stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert recently to promote his new series, The F Word, and wasn’t shy about revealing some of his major dislikes. He said:

“I’m not a big fan of grits…they’re very rich, heavy, sometimes a bit greasy.”

Hmm. Southerners would definitely disagree.

He also shared that American sandwiches don’t make sense to him. He said:

“You go to a deli and the sandwich is like f—ing 12 feet tall.”

Stephen quickly came to the sandwiche’s aid, though, saying:

“That’s the sandwich of a super power, my friend. Back when you had an empire, your sandwiches were much larger.”

LOL!

Gordon was also less than forgiving of a certain Thanksgiving tradition. When describing the deep-fried turkey at the holiday dinner he attended, he said:

“It was f—ing disgusting. Dry turkey…there’s a reason we only eat that turkey once a year.”

Though he may not be into the classics, Gordon is still expanding his American restaurant business. According to Delish, the chef plans to open six new restaurants in the U.S. in addition to the ones he currently owns in New York, New Jersey, California, and Nevada.

Catch Gordon on The F Word on Wednesdays at 9/8c on Fox.
