CNN has given Kathy Griffin the boot!

After posting a photograph of herself holding a severed, bloody replica of Donald Trump’s head, the network has cut ties with the comedian, and she will no longer appear with Anderson Cooper for their New Year’s Eve coverage.

CNN spokesman Shimrit Sheetrit confirmed to USA Today in a statement:

“CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year’s Eve program. We found what she did disgusting and offensive. We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down.”

Anderson has appeared with Kathy every New Year since 2007, but even he would not defend his co-host. He tweeted on Tuesday night:

“For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.”

Late Tuesday evening, Kathy took to Twitter to apologize for the upsetting image. She tweeted:

“I crossed the line. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing, I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my career, I will continue to. I ask for your forgiveness.”

CNN wasn’t alone in ditching the controversial actress. A casino in New Mexico cancelled a performance by the comedian that was scheduled for July 22.
