Robert Pattinson rose to superstardom playing Edward Cullen in Twilight, but it almost didn’t happen.

During an interview over the weekend with The New York Times, the actor recalled how he was almost fired while making the first film, which came out in 2008. Robert explained that he and his fellow cast mates, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Anna Kendrick, Ashley Greene, and Nikki Reed, were not so into following orders given on the set. He said, “I didn’t have to kiss anybody’s [butt] the entire time. I don’t think I did, anyway.” Apparently, his rebellious attitude made waves. He went on to reveal that his agents flew to the Canadian set to settle him down and smooth things out.

Some of the actor’s behavior was due his acting process. Back in 2012, the star told Yahoo! Movies that he was so serious about his method acting that he “was fighting with everybody in control all the time…to the point where I almost got fired.”

Yikes!

Robert told The New York Times that though he was a “bit of a sellout” for doing the Twilight franchise, it was “an amazing luxury” and he is grateful “to just have fallen into it with the group of people I worked with on it.”
