The show must go on, until some fool starts taking pictures.

During a matinee of Broadway’s Sunset Boulevard, Glenn Close stopped in the middle of her performance to scold a disobedient audience member who was taking photos.

The interruption happened during her character Norma Desmond’s ballad, “With One Look.” According to Page Six, the 3-time Tony winner addressed the audience and said, “I’m sorry. Stop the show. Someone there is taking photos. You must know how distracting and disrespectful that is. Now, we can have a show or we can have a photo shoot.” Shortly after, the 70-year-old told the conductor, “Let’s take it from the top of the song.”

The incident marked the second time the actress has stopped a performance during her time playing the role. According to Playbill, during a preview of the original Broadway production in 1994, Glenn told an audience full of photo takers, “We can either have a press conference or continue with the show.”

The use of recording devices and the taking of pictures in Broadway theaters is strictly forbidden by New York State law, and guests are reminded of this prior to each performance.
