Johnny Depp Says There’s Only Room For One Female Villain in ‘Pirates.’ Oh Sweetie…

Word on the street is that screenwriter Terry Rossio alleged that Johnny Depp said no to a script for Dead Men Tell No Tales because it had a female villain.

His reason was that there was already a female villain in a different Pirates of the Caribbean movie, reports Elle.

Terry spilled the beans in a blog post on WordPlayer (which has since been taken down, but later quoted by Movie Pilot).

“My version of Dead Men Tell No Tales was set aside [just] because it featured a female villain,” Terry wrote, “and Johnny Depp was worried that [it] would be redundant to Dark Shadows, which also featured a female villain.”

Can’t a woman want to find hidden treasure, too? Let’s be honest.

Aren’t all these male villains kinda looking the same?
