Robin Wright Compares Trump to ‘House of Cards’

You’re not the only one who thinks the Trump Administration is stealing ideas from House of Cards.

Robin Wright, who plays the first lady of the U.S. Claire Underwood in the modern-day Macbeth-ish Netflix drama, told the audience at the Women in Motion event at the Cannes Film Festival today that “Trump’s stolen all of our ideas for season six.”

Robin also said she wanted Michelle Obama to run. “I was thinking about the year 2024,” she said. “I want Michelle Obama up there. She’d be a great female candidate. It does take time to break the mold.”

And as for misogyny in Hollywood: “I think it’s just a matter of time and breaking an old school of thought, opening up perspective,” she said, adding that “feminism has become such a derogatory, diva-like word. Feminism means equality. Equal work, equal pay.”
