Looks like New Girl will be sticking around for another season! Well, sort of.

Variety reported that the Fox sitcom was renewed for its seventh and final season, but will only have eight episodes.

The hit series, starring Zooey Deschanel, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone, Jake Johnson and Lamorne Morris, has seen declining ratings recently, and nobody was really sure if the season 6 finale was also the series finale. Last month, Jake told HuffPost:

“What I really in my heart believe, I just want the core fan base, the people who love the show, I want them to be happy. And I don’t actually know what that ending is. I just want this TV show to end in a way so that the people who have committed six years of their lives to it, who have cared about it — I don’t want to let them down.”

Though numbers have been down, the show is Fox‘s longest-running live-action comedy, and has done well in syndication at Netflix, MTV and TBS.

Fox has declined to comment at this time.
