In 3 Generations, Elle Fanning plays a trans teenage boy named Ray, whose single mother (Naomi Watts) and grandmother (Susan Sarandon) rally around him in only a family can.

Susan plays Dolly, who is a lesbian and old school feminist having trouble coming to grips that her grandson was incorrectly assigned female at birth. She’s convinced that she has a lesbian granddaughter.
