We can’t be happier for Joe Scarborough and Mike Brzezinski. The two have had such chemistry on air for so long that they’re finally revealing what we kinda always knew: they’re in love and now they’re getting married!
As we previously reported, Joe popped the question during a romantic trip to the Cal D-Antibes last weekend. And as Page Six has learned, he apparently bought the ring a month before he proposed.
“[Joe] was really nervous going through airport security when they left together for the trip, because the ring was in his carry on bag, and he worried the TSA would pull the ring box out of his bag in front of Mika,” a source said. “Thankfully that didn’t happen. Also he was worried about losing the ring. He did lots of checking in his bag to make sure it was still there.”
Most of his friends were shocked he was able to keep it secret: “Everyone knows Joe is impulsive and can’t keep a secret. It is amazing that he waited until the fourth day of the vacation to propose.”
Mika reflected on the night to Vanity Fair, saying, “Halfway up the hill, he said he needed to sit down … I thought, Oh, poor guy, he can’t make it up the hill. His glasses were fogging up he was so nervous.” That’s when he got down on one knee: “When I saw him on one knee, I started laughing nervously, almost hysterically. And then he asked, and I said, ‘Absolutely.’”
