MSNBC Rebukes Brian Williams For Patronizing Rachel Maddow On Air

Brian Williams, who was fired from NBC Nightly News after getting suspended for six months in 2015 after “misremembering” (or, many say lied about) his experiences during the Iraq War, is under fire again.

Brian appeared on Rachel Maddow’s show earlier this month to break the news on the Syria missile launches. After the report, he turned to her (on her own show) and said “Thanks for visiting tonight. Glad you were a part of our coverage.”

That’s when things got a bit heavy. People started accusing MSNBC of being sexist for bringing a male anchor to report such big news, when Rachel probably could have handled it better herself.

Brian also repeatedly referred to the Syrian bombs as “beautiful.”

One source from the network told Page Six, “Not only did Brian go way over the top with his coverage of the missile strike, he then totally patronized Rachel by thanking her for ‘visiting’ her own show and being ‘a part’ of his ‘beautiful’ coverage! Has he not learned anything from ‘Misremember-gate’?”

According to Page Six, MSNBC chief Phil Griffin was incredibly angry at Brian. “Phil gave Brian a very stern rebuke, telling him, ‘Don’t you ever do that again.’ But Rachel didn’t seem bothered by it and just laughed it off,” a source said.
