While in Bulgaria filming his new heist movie #211, Nicholas Cage reportedly broke his ankle and was rushed to a local hospital, then flown back to Los Angeles for further treatment.

As a result, the movie was put on hold for a couple weeks while he recovers — because that’s what happens when you’re the star of a movie!

It’s unclear as to how exactly he was injured.

What we do know is that Cage plays a police officer in #211 who is trying to stop a bank robbery. “211” is the police code for a robbery in progress.
