Mark Hamill Says He Was Partly ‘In Love With Carrie Fisher’

Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will forever have Star Wars to reconnect their spirits. And after taking part in the recent Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida, Mark is opening up even more about his feelings towards the late Princes Leia.

In an honorary tribute to Carrie on Friday, he said: “I’m trying to use you as therapy to get through this together,” calling her “my beloved space twin.”

“As attracted as I was to her, I thought I couldn’t handle her as a girlfriend. She’s too much,” Mark said. “Part of me did fall in love with her. I think every guy… She had you under her spell.”

He also shared a story about visiting with Carrie and Debbie Reynolds, and introduced a video of montage of both George Lucas and The Last Jedi director Ryan Johnson talking about how much they loved her. “Wait until you see her in ‘The Last Jedi,’ ” Mark added. “You’re going to love her.”

He continued: “When I think of her, she’s looking down from the celestial stratosphere with those big brown eyes, that sly smile on her face, as she lovingly extends me the middle finger. And that’s how I want you to think of her. That was Carrie.”
