Hayden Christensen Got a Standing Ovation During The ‘Star Wars’ Celebration

The young Anakin Skywalker (i.e. Darth Vader) himself Hayden Christensen was met with a standing ovation after a 15-year hiatus away from any sort of Star Wars gathering at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida, honoring the 40th anniversary of the franchise.

Following the panel of past Star Wars stars, Hayden also went to a meet-and-greet, where fans gushed over him.

His presence onstage was merely 10 minutes long, but literally each time he spoke, fans would cheer, reports Entertainment Tonight. At one point, he shared a story about how he couldn’t stop making lightsaber noises while on set.

The last appearance he made for any kind of Star Wars celebration was in 2002, right before his first Star Wars movie was released.

He appeared in both Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005).

Many seem to think he’s steered away from Star Wars due to backlash the prequel trilogies received, especially around Hayden’s performance and his character’s dialogue.
