Wow, looks like young Dumbledore was a hottie!

Jude Law has been cast as the younger version of Albus Dumbledore in the upcoming sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, part of the Harry Potter franchise.

Jude’s Dumbledore is merely a Transfiguration professor, decades before he becomes the Hogwarts Headmaster, and we will see the beginnings of his complicated relationship with villain Grindelwald, played by Johnny Depp.

Director David Yates said in a statement:

“Jude Law is a phenomenally talented actor whose work I have long admired, and I’m looking forward to finally having the opportunity to work with him. I know he will brilliantly capture all the unexpected facets of Albus Dumbledore as J.K. Rowling reveals this very different time in his life.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them grossed more than $813 million. With Jude Law now in the mix, the yet-to-be-titled sequel is bound to surpass that total. Shooting will start this summer, and the film is expected to hit theaters on November 16, 2018.
