The newest Fate of the Furious is bringing everyone major nostalgia, seeing as it’s the first film since the death of Paul Walker, who ironically died in a car crash in 2013.

The actor died during the filming of Furious 7 in Santa Clarita after attending a charity event.

But just because he’s gone physically doesn’t mean he’s gone spiritually. Most of the actors found experiencing the latest installment very emotional, even though they will never forget the incredible man that was Paul Walker.

“I’m still reeling from the loss, the idea of of continuing along without my brother Pablo and what that felt like and the complexities of that,” Vin Diesel said to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet for the NYC premiere. Vin named his 2-year old daughter Pauline after the late actor, who was one of his closest friends.

“If I ever had a concern or something, I would call [Paul],” Vin shared. “And I don’t have that call now and I don’t have that person that’s dreaming up the impossible with me… One of the things that makes this film so magical, the relationships are so powerful that they bleed off screen.”

Vin introduced the movie that night, saying: “There wasn’t a second we made this movie, not a minute, not a day that went by that we weren’t thinking about our brother Pablo. How to bring him into the movie, how to represent him, and how to make something that he would be proud of. Pablo, I hope you are proud tonight.”

Co-star Michelle Rodriguez chimed in: “We didn’t want to jump in and pretend that everything’s OK after such a big loss. You kind of have to reinvent the thing and go dark before coming out of it.”

Ludacris also said: “The last movie was for Paul, we love to say this movie is from Paul. So, I mean his presence is always going to be felt and at this point we’re working hard and trying to make the best movie possible for him, to continue on his legacy.”

Furious newcomer Scott Eastwood also shared what it was like without Paul, saying, “There’s no replacing Paul, ever! Ever, ever, ever! Paul was a good friend to all of us, this is his family.”
