Kelly Rowland Says She’s Still ‘Fly’ After Becoming A Mom
Kelly Rowland is proud of being a mom, and all that goes with it.
In celebration of Kendrick Lamar’s new song “Humble,” in which he praises stretch marks, the singer took to Instagram last week to share a photo showcasing her own. Here’s the picture, in case you missed it:
Her pride was met with criticism by a rude follower who wrote, “Wat u showing . . . an old looking ass.” Page Six said Kelly was understandably angry about it, saying, “For me it was the nerve of you to body shame me . . . That comment really pissed me off.”
The 36-year-old has a 2-year-old son, Titan, with husband Tim Witherspoon, and says being a mom hasn’t affect her hip factor at all. She told Page Six:
“I was in Miami when I found out I was pregnant . . . People did tell me it was not a good time to have a baby. ‘Kelly, you have a record to put out. It is time for you to get back in the studio.’ And I was like, ‘Don’t say I am not fly just because I am having a kid, and as a matter of fact I am flyer than your ass, so don’t try to call me out’ . . . I was itching for a baby and I was not getting any younger.”
She and Dr. Tristan Emily Bickman (her OB-GYN) just cowrote, “Whoa, Baby,” a book about the star’s experience with becoming a mom. Though she’s thrilled with her little boy, Kelly doesn’t feel the need to go for baby number 2 right away. She said:
“There is no pressure to have baby No. 2. Beyoncé is preggers right now, and so is Ciara. So I do not feel any pressure to have another baby when I touch their stomachs. I am good with Titan; now is not the time.”
“Whoa, Baby” is available tomorrow.
