Prince Charles Revealed 5 Secrets We Never Knew About Kate Middleton

An extensive biography on the royal family called Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes of an Improbable Life was released, written by Sally Bedell Smith.

Vogue was able to get their beautiful hands on it to share with the world little fun facts about Kate Middleton (i.e. the Duchess of Cambridge) that no one ever knew before. Such as:

#1) The Queen gave Kate & William full control of the wedding guest list.

Usually, a royal wedding is a worldwide affair (and it was), but the Queen ended up sacrificing control and tradition for a day because apparently Prince William approached his grandmother about a long list of invites he didn’t even know (probably names of rich people around the world who wanted their pics taken with the royal couple).

Queen Elizabeth apparently said, “Get rid of it…Start from your friends and then we’ll add those we need to in due course. It’s your day.”

#2) Kate loves a good kitchen.

According to excerpts, when architect Charles Morris and interior decorator Ben Pentreat worked on Anmer Hall, Kate typed up notes of their conversations on her train rides. The kitchen is the center of the house in Anmer Hall, where they stay, just east of the Queen’s residence at Sandringham.

#3) Kate renovated Kensington Palace!

After the wedding, apparently Kate and William (mainly Kate, though) did a $6 million renovation for their Kensington Palace apartment partly because the ceilings were too long. The couple currently reside in Anmer Hall and are expected to move back this year.

#4) Kate once snuck into an art exhibition.

A few years ago, Kate traveled to the Royal Academy of Arts to see a 2012 David Hockney exhibition, according to the book, and was able to chat with a random lawyer and his son (both whom had no idea who she was).

#5) Prince Charles didn’t approve of their long honeymoon.

Apparently, the couple’s first big trip after getting married included stops in Canada and California, with one too many “photo ops” if you ask Prince Charles. William’s dad did not approve of the constant picture taking, but the rest of the world didn’t seem to mind it.
