The Trump Organization and celebrity chef José Andrés have finally settled a legal battle that lasted almost two years.
Jose backed out of opening a restaurant at Trump’s Hotel after the President made remarks about immigrants back in 2015.
Jose is a Spanish immigrant. It’s the way he describes himself on his Twitter page. One sentence: I’m an immigrant!
The amount of the settlement was not revealed, but Trump sued Jose for $10 million, and Jose countersued for $8million, according to The Washington Post.
Jose claimed that Trump’s remarks made it difficult to attract Hispanic staff or customers.
The two parties have not disclosed the terms of the settlement, but Jose seems happy that this chapter is finally over.
Happy to put this chapter behind us, a win-win for both sides and now time to focus on the issues that matter. https://t.co/aaGUK50NNT
