We have been obsessed with Sir Patrick Stewart and his wife Sunny lately! The couple recently welcomed a foster dog into their home, and it’s been cuteness overload every since. Ginger, a pit bull, was rescued from a dog fighting ring, and came to know unconditional love in the home of the Stewarts. Watch a heartwarming video below:

Patrick told People, “I find that my relationship to the world and to the news every day in the papers and on the television has been changed by Ginger, because she has brought such a quality of patience and tolerance and fun into our lives, that it has, in a very short space of time, shifted my sense of where our world might be going.”

The actor’s special relationship with the pup has motivated him to use his incredible influence to help end dog fighting. He has partnered with the APSCA, an animal welfare organization, to help make a change. The “Get Tough” campaign aims to raise awareness about the cruel practice of dog fighting, and to educate people about the misunderstood breed. The group is encouraging others to sign a pledge to advocate against dog fighting and to share pictures of their own sweet pitties with the hashtag #GetTough.

Though Patrick and Sunny were “madly in love” with Ginger, they were unable to be her forever home, due to Breed Specific Legislation in the UK. They have found her a loving home, and plan to see her as often as possible. See Sunny’s moving Facebook post below:

Thank you, Patrick and Sunny, for making a difference!
