Miranda Lambert’s Assistant Keeps Liquor On Hand For ‘Meltdowns’
Better safe than sorry, especially when it comes to needing a cocktail.
Miranda Lambert told Sounds Like Nashville that her trusty assistant has things covered with the “nanny bag” she brings on the road. The country star said, “My assistant packs — I call it my nanny bag — she packs a bag of liquor for emergencies, for meltdowns and things like that.”
The bag was put to very good use right before the ACM Awards, when her flight was cancelled and she and her crew had to road-trip it to Las Vegas. Instead of panicking, Miranda used the bag’s special contents to turn the bus ride into a party. She said, “I’m like, OK, we’re good, I’m golden. We just need a cooler of ice and we’re going. It was probably just the beginning of the celebrations, as Miranda ended up scoring the award for “Album of the Year.” She also won for “Female Vocalist of the Year,” and became the first person to receive the award eight times in a row.
