We can always count on Gina Rodriguez to speak up for the oppressed. The Jane the Virgin actress has used her platform to call for more diversity across the board, including equal rights, environmental issues, and mending the gender pay gap.

Currently, she’s partnering up with LUNA on an Equal Pay Day campaign. Did you know women are paid nearly 20 percent less than men for doing the same job? Gina certainly does, and she’s here to try and fix it.

LUNA is supporting LeanIn.org’s #20PercentCounts campaign by offering women 20 percent off the brand’s products from April 3 to April 11, and donating the discount to fund salary negotiation workshops hosted by AAUW, reports Elle.

“It’s so much more than money,” Gina said to Elle. “It’s about bigger issues of equality, especially in this political climate. Change only comes with conversation and with unity. I’ve been a huge advocate for the International Women’s March and fighting for our reproductive rights, but equal pay is important because one should be given equality based on merit, not on gender. I work 16 hours a day on a TV show that I give my entire life and heart to, and there’s no reason why a male actor should make more than me for the exact same work I’m doing.”

Gina continued: “We’re definitely in a time when we have to speak up for ourselves and have conversations that create change. We’re creating a nice, comfortable, supportive, strong, unified collection of women who want to talk about this. And we’re creating opportunities for women who want to attend salary negotiation workshops and learn those skills. I mean, I need to learn the skills on how to ask for a pay raise.”
