Chris Pine’s Ripped ‘Wonder Woman’ Body Was All For Naught

When Chris Pine scored the role of Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman, he did what he thought made sense. Since the film is a superhero movie, and all superheroes are shredded, he hit the gym with a vengeance. Turns out his time may have been better spent.

Chris joked with Entertainment Tonight at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last night that all the effort he put into his body was a “major mistake.” He said:

“I got in incredible shape for this film. I was also wearing about 75 pounds of clothing. Patty has a fetish, you just like a lot of clothing. You like down coats, winter sweaters. What I realized is that I made a major mistake, I got in great shape and they just put clothes over all my hard work.”

The 36-year-old actor had previously told Men’s Fitness that packing in extra food to bulk up was not in his plans. He said:

“You’ve got Thor, you’ve got Captain America. These guys are eating 5,000, 7,000 calories, waking up just to eat food, eating 15 meals a day. For your liver, I don’t think that’s healthy.”

Instead Chris swung dumbbells, kettlebells, and clubbells to achieve the look he was after.

We think someone needs to find an outlet for Chris to display his hard work, STAT.

Wonder Woman will hit theaters on June 2nd.
