Attendees of Richard Simmons’ Final Workout Class Said ‘Something Wasn’t Right’

Richard Simmons didn’t give any warning that he would stop teaching at the famed Beverly Hills Slimmons Studio in February 2014. And according to People magazine, regulars who actually came to his last Saturday class sensed that something was a bit off that day.

“He just didn’t seem like himself and we had a feeling something wasn’t right,” Ava Minett of the Double Time Twins said. “He missed his ‘talk’ before class, he was late, he didn’t make many jokes. His energy was different — like he wasn’t physically present in the room with us.”

Once it was over, he never said it would be his last class. “Everything was business as usual,” says Ava. “[My sister and I] asked him how he was doing after class before we left, and he said everything was fine, but you know when you just know that something isn’t right? We just knew.”
