‘Real Housewives’ Star Kim DePaola at the Center of a Double Murder Investigation
Real Housewives of New Jersey star Kim DePaola is at the center of a double murder investigation after two bodies were discovered in her car, which was set on fire last Friday.
TMZ reports that an Audi owned by Kim, but mostly used by her son Chris, was discovered burned with two charred bodies inside in Paterson, New Jersey. Both unidentified victims were shot in the head execution-style, reports NBC.
Apparently, the bodies were so charred that investigators couldn’t even identify race or sex of the victims, however they later discovered that both of them were men.
“I can’t tell you why we are treating it as a homicide, but we are treating it as a homicide,” police Capt. Richard Reyes said in a statement.
NBC reports that neighbors close by heard two gunshots ringing out before witnessing the car go up in flames. Firefighters reportedly had to force the roof of the car open to pull the remains out.
As for the people who had the car at the time, TMZ reports that Kim’s son Chris was out of town. In fact, a friend, Aaron Anderson, had used the Audi to drop him off at the airport even though he was not supposed to drive the car. No word is out yet on whether he’s one of the dead bodies found in the car.
Aaron’s mom told NBC that she’d been calling him but they all went to voicemail. His father, Thurston Anderson, said, “We’re concerned. We have nothing definite so we wanted to look at the spot. We’re not sure yet. I’m hoping nothing happened.”
Chris is also very concerned as he’s been unable to contact Aaron.
No arrests have been made and there is no clear motive for the crime, nor is their evidence of drugs being involved yet.
Kim, however, has come out to assure everyone that she and her son are safe: “I am humbled by the outpour of love and support during this very difficult time,” she wrote on Instagram. “My son and I are both safe. Our deepest condolences of out to the victims’ families of this truly horrific tragedy.”
